Kutuma Dignity Funeral Plan

What is Kutuma Dignity Funeral Plan? It’s a funeral policy that you pay monthly premiums in exchange for cash pay out when a member covered on the policy dies. The cash pay out can be used for funeral expenses, tombstone, catering or other funeral related and living expenses for the family left behind. We offer family cover, single parent cover, single member cover, extended member cover and traditional plan / society plan. Cover amounts start from R5000 to R18 000 at the moment, higher cover will also be availed later on. We also have optional  or top up covers and services plans ie Repatriation Service Plan for SADC and South Africa. Below we will provide a brief description of all the different plans mentioned above. 

Family Plan

The Family Plan consists of Main member + Spouses  and a maximum of six (6) children under the age of 21 years under one premium. The children can be biological, legally adopted, or grand children. Extended Family members (brief description to be provided below)  can be covered as well under the plan.  Cover amounts are available from R5000 to  R18 000 at the moment. This means every member covered on the policy from 14 years of age a full amount of the cover will be paid out in the event of their. The age of entry categories for main members are as follows:

Family Plan 18-64 Years

Family Plan 65-74 Years 

Waiting periods for main member, spouse and kids is 1 months for accidental death , 6 months for natural death, 24 months for suicide. 

Cover Amounts available as R5000, R10 000, R15 000 & R18 000.

Single Parent Plan

The Single Parent Plan consists of Main member (ie the parent) and a maximum of six (6) children under the age of 21 years under one premium. The children can be biological, legally adopted, or grand children. Extended Family members (brief description to be provided below)  can be covered as well under the plan.  Cover amounts are available from R5000 to  R18 000 at the moment. This means every member covered on the policy from 14 years of age a full amount of the cover will be paid out in the event of their. The age of entry categories for main members are as follows:

Single Member Plan

The Single Member  Plan consists of Main member and is suitable for people without kids to cover on the policy. Extended Family members (brief description to be provided below)  can be covered as well under the plan.  Cover amounts are available from R5000 to  R18 000 at the moment. This means every member covered on the policy from 18 years of age a full amount of the cover will be paid out in the event of their. The age of entry categories for main members are as follows:

Single Member Plan 18-64 Years

Single Member Plan 65-74 Years

Extended Family Cover

Extended Family Plan includes people are related to the main member. These can be uncles, aunts, parents, parents in-law’s, siblings etc.  Extended members are covered in this plan at an extra premium. Age categories for Family Plan are as below:

*below 65 Years 

*65-74 Years

*75-84 Years

Waiting periods for extended members is 6 months for natural and accidental death, 24 months for suicide. 

Cover Amounts available for extended members are R5000, R10 000 & R15 000

Traditional Plan

Traditional Plan
The Traditional Plan consists of main member and a maximum of up to 13 other members (with whom the main member has insurable interest in). These members can be spouse , children , uncles, aunts, parents , grandparents, in laws etc. The ages of other members covered should not exceed the age category of the main member otherwise they will be charged separately. Cover amounts are available up to R15 000, optional benefits or top up can also be taken with this cover. The age categories for main members are as follows:

18-64 Years
18-74 Years

The Traditional Plans are available in the following format:

Traditional Plan 1+5
Traditional Plan 1+9
Traditional Plan 1+13

Waiting periods are 1 month for accidental death, 6 months for natural death and 24 Months for suicide.

Kutuma Repatriation Service Plan SADC (Optional)

Repatriation of mortal remains is usually expensive and requires specialized knowledge and skills, Kutuma Repatriation Service Plan was developed with this in mind.

The citizens of the following countries can be covered together with their relatives back home:  Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Angola, Zambia and Malawi.

Our vehicles contain cold storage facilities to reduce decomposition especially in hot climates, we aim to transport your loved ones / customers with respect , care and dignity. Our repatriation plan provide for the below services which can be taken together with our cash plans.

Repatriation Services
*Transportation of mortal remains to the country of origin to a major city.

*Collection of the deceased from hospital.

*Transportation of the deceased to our storage facilities for embalming and other mortuary services.

*Paperwork: Death registration, assistance with death certificates, and other paperwork for the transportation of the deceased to country of burial.

*Transportation of 1 accompanying family members.

*Provision of a flat lid coffin with zinc liner for the transportation of mortal remains.

*Transportation can be by road or air and if the transportation is by air: Transport of 1 accompanying relatives is not applicable.

Waiting periods for the repatriation plan is 6 months for accidental & natural death, and 24 months for suicide.

Kutuma Repatriation Service Plan South Africa (Optional)

The Repatriation Service  Plan caters for repatriation of mortal remains within  South Africa. The repatriation cover is an optional  top up service plan. The cover is used mainly for inter provincial repatriation.

  • Collection of the deceased from place of death within reasonable time limits.
  • Transportation of the deceased to a funeral parlor for storage, embalming and other mortuary services.
  • Paperwork: Death registration, assistance with death certificates, and other paperwork for the transportation of the deceased to country of burial.
  • Provision of a flat lid coffin with zinc liner for the transportation of mortal remains.
  • Transportation of mortal remains from one province to another.
  • Transportation is by road or air.
